Biography

After a successful career as a professional dancer and TV film costumer, Sharon Brooks took a leap of faith and left entertainment to become a visual artist, transferring her creativity and passion onto paper, canvas, collage, and three-dimensional assemblages. Full of whimsy and clever surprise, her work has been widely viewed and received numerous awards.

"As a girl in my father's workshop, I remember seeing different kinds of wood, old celluloid jukebox parts, rusted metals, and all sorts of tools. As an artist, I love finding these castoff objects (junk to many) and juggling them into unique art that takes me on a personal journey of joy and discovery. Working without a present plan and employing a hefty dose of imagination, it's a transformative creative free fall. I hope the audience has as much fun viewing my work as I do creating it."
